Alpine bike trip

We left here Mon. morning 12-1-08 for Alpine on our motorcycle. Our plan was to go up through Mule Creek and Glenwood, stop at the Catwalk for a nice late Fall hike, stay in Alpine overnight and return through the Coronado trail. We had a nice hike (lots of pix for Kristi) and enjoyed a wonderful dinner at the Bear Wallow Cafe (I had trout and Don had their yummy hamburger.) The temps were down in the low 20's but hi's were in the low 60's. We traveled to Hannigan Meadow on Tue. (1st pix) and had to ride through some icy roads which aren't ideal on the motorcycle! We got word at the Meadow that the roads were even icier so we returned home through Alpine enjoying a nice late lunch at Alma. We met a couple on their bikes at the Alma Grill who biked that day from Safford to have lunch there! We enjoyed our 2 days spent on the bike and are anxious to plan a week trip whenever the weather and my schedule allows! I am posting a lot of pix of the Catwalk for Don's daughter Kristi to see as we have been trying to get their family to come there with us. Perhaps the weather will be nice for all my family to go at Christmas. We met a photographer there from the NY Times. Soon the Catwalk in NM will be famous!

A few years ago, I never would have imagined you riding around on a motorcycle. Wow, what marriage has done for you. I am thrilled that you and Don are so happy. Happy trails!
