I didn't take any pix but we sure enjoyed our 3 days on the mt. Some friends came up and spent 1 night, the Stearns, which was great fun. We enjoyed a nice hike on Mon. then a salmon lunch on the grill before they left. We felt like we were in heaven sitting on the porch with the beautiful view eating a delicious lunch with good company.
Tue. Don and I thought we'd head down the Ash Creek trail for about an hour then hike back up. The trail is quite steep so we didn't want to do more than we could handle. It was SO fun going down we kept going further than we had planned. I was hoping we could make it to slick rock but we turned around probably about 1/4-1/2 mi before. It is so easy going downhill! We were surprised though that we made it back up in about the same length of time as going down hiking a little over 4 hrs total. After eating and resting some we wanted to hike some more so we headed back to the place Stephen and Jody had taken us to the tree where Pres. Kimball carved his name, when I don't know. I remember Rick Lines taking us there many years ago when I was 3 mo. pregnant with Kamala. Wed. we had a leisurely morning then packed up, cleaned the cabin some and headed down the road stopping at Grant Loop for another hike. I like the Grant Loop hike because there is a gorgeous overlook area where you can see much of the S side of the mt. overlooking Ft. Grant area. We felt very good being able to have three wonderful days of hiking. Why is hiking for several hours easier than working?????
Don headed back to Tucson then SLC Thur. and I have been able to keep excercising every day since then. I have been motivated to do so after reading a book Jody recommended - "Younger Next Year for Women." I really want to feel the best I can as I age which is happening faster than I can believe! I recommend this book as well.
We are headed to Ouray, CO this Thur. on the motorcycle so that should be an adventuresome trip!
