When I was a girl and riding horses I fantasized about packing on my horse a bedroll and food and riding off for several days. Now that I am older and much wiser we went on a trip packing our tent, sleeping bags, sleeping pads and not much food on the motorcycle and riding off for several days. We left on Wed. riding up Coronado trail and found a campground in the dark with the help of my GPS unit by St. Johns. We pitched the tent with one flashlight (you know I was traveling light with only one flashlight!) and spent the night. I found out my 15 deg down sleeping bag didn't keep me warm in the high 30's temp range. The next day we went to the Petrified forest then went on to Holbrook and stopped in at Hartley's pawn shop. Tammy and Hartley put us up for the night where we enjoyed a very yummy dinner and breakfast and wonderful airbed where I slept warm all night. Friday we headed for Oakcreek Canyon where we enjoyed a nice ride and found another campground. I slept warmer by sleeping in my riding snow bibs. We had a great hard hike the next morning before heading down the canyon into Sedona. We enjoyed the sights there then rode to Jerome and over the mt. to Prescott Valley. It was quite windy and cold traveling home from PV but we made it safe and sound. There will be pix posted when I get my lost camera back which is another saga for another day.

Hey Susan--- I got an email from Amanda Randall Briggs asking me to get ahold of you to see if you could go visit her mom or get ahold of her mom to see how she is doing since you have always been there for her in the past. I guess her health isn't so good so she would love a little encouragement. Amanda would get ahold of you herself but she doesnt have internet right now. Thanks! Love the blog!!
