Aravaipa!

Above: some of our group, cousins - Julie Weech and Joyce Skinner, their sis-in-law Jana Cluff and Lena Skinner who is daughter -in-law to Joyce. This is taken shortly after we entered the canyon and have already sampled the delicious water cress which may be seen in this pix. We started hiking at 08:00 and the canyon was quite cool. We thought we could do this hike even in June as cool as it was in May. WRONG! Coming back was quite hot.
Lynn on horse is telling us something interesting. That guy told us many interesting stories that kept us intriqued the whole trip.

Such a fun place to go! We walked about 2.5 miles in and found a wonderful swimming hole, ate lunch and headed back.

You cross the creek about a hundred times and walk in it sometimes. You don't even try to keep shoes dry but plan on getting them wet. Oh, that water felt good!

We loved the little peephole in this huge rock.

My cousin, Steve and his wife Jody, were supposed to go with us but had an emergency come up. We were sad they couldn't go because they have been in several times and knew where this wonderful swimming hole was. Lynn and Dell were able to find it amazingly enough because it was quite a ways up this certain canyon. I was so hot and was looking forward to this swim.

I absolutely couldn't believe how cold this water was because the creek water wasn't even cold. It was the coldest water I have ever been in and let out a scream which Don captured in this shot. After the shock wore off it felt so good!
Don is dumping the rocks out of his shoes which was a needful thing quite often!

It was VERY warm hiking back and Don is cooling off here. We loved our adventure today! We saw a group of havalina with some babies that were no bigger than baby puppies and were so cute. We also saw goats on the top of a big cliff and a coyote on the road coming back. There were fish and frogs but not a snake to be seen. It was a great day and we hope to return!

That looks like a lot of fun! Cool that you got to do it with some of your cousins.
