We parked our trailer in the campground at Twilight canyon on Mt. Graham for a few days. My son, Aaron came up and spent a few hours with us. This would be a great place to have a family reunion if we had the campground to ourselves!
We hiked a mile or so of the shake trail starting from the top. I didn't like it much at first as it was quite steep with lots of slippery pine needles but coming back up was much better. We have hiked this part way starting at Stockton Pass so it was fun seeing the top portion of the trail.
Past the outhouse at twilight canyon is a nice trail that leads to a canyon across from heliograph
On this same trail is a huge pile of rocks and when you climb to the top you see a nice view. Does anyone know how this pile of rocks got here???
Someday I am going to make a little photo album of all the pretty wild flowers we saw this spring. The year of our Temple dedication will probably be the best year for wild flowers! The desert rejoicefully bloomed! These pretty flowers were seen on the Angle Orchard trail.
This view is on the trail to Angle Orchard from Turkey Flat. If anyone knows how to get to that little body of water about in the middle of the pix let me know! We hiked from Turkey flat to A. Orchard. My knees do not like that much down hill!
Pretty manzanita blooming seen on Angle Orchard trail
On left is view from Turkey Flat to Angle Orchard trail. On R. is a nice little trail taking off from the other side of the pond at Snow Flat. It leads to an overlook.
My kids tell me all I ever post is camping/hiking pictures. Well, I work 14+ days most M,W,F's and it takes this kind of stuff for me to get my sanity back! I should have taken some pictures of the Gila Valley Temple during the open house and dedication but there have been fabulous pix online. I sure enjoyed these weeks though! I felt like attending the dedication was like a visit to Heaven! I am excited to go to a session in the morning! When my little grandson, Carson, toured the Temple during the open house he walked into the Celestial room and said "we are blessed!" I feel the same way!
